As a recent college graduate and former intern at WRAL, Caitlin is knowledgable and has experience in filming, editing, creating content, writing under pressure, reporting, designing, and blogging. She is passionate about creating and telling stories through journalism and filming, and is excited for new opportunities now that she has graduated from William Peace University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and an Integrated Media concentration.
When I was 14 years old, I remember watching the Today Show and thinking how cool it would be to have a job like that. I decided to research what the news anchors studied and found out about Broadcast Journalism. Through my college journey and studying more about communications, my passion for creating, storytelling, and being able to connect with people in a new way have only gotten stronger.
I enjoy standing in front of a camera delivering news and information, but the most special and rewarding experiences I have had are the ones that requires me to step away from in front of the camera and let the stories tell themselves, while I’m just there to capture it through the lens. I am grateful for the people that have allowed me into their lives and homes to trust me to tell their story.
I always strive to find new ways to tell stories and connect with people, while meeting deadlines under pressure and staying organized. I posses strong leadership skills, but value working as a team player. I’m excited to see what life after college has to offer within a career in journalism.
